Rain rain go away...

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my last post and welcome to lovely new followers!

As I write this post, the wind is howling away and the rain pelting down.  Far too windy to venture outside.  I've been in gale force winds before and I've seen people thrown off their bicycles and ladies, arms linked, wrapped around a lamp post!

I have to smile, I'm probably the only person in the WORLD who loves the rain...
I figure we can't do anything about the weather, so we might as well embrace whatever it wants to do!

As the weather is keeping me indoors today, I'm finishing up my sewing project - curtains.

A cup of delicious Earl Grey Supreme blend should help me along the way...

I posted about this vintage French fabric I bought from eBay a while ago.

I wanted to trim a plain fabric with a more detailed fabric for contrast.
I've made four curtains and this is exactly how I wanted them to look.

It's still raining, but I can't wait any longer, I'm going out!

What do you do when it's raining?

  2. Super curtains Sharon, you have been busy!
I don't mind the rain too much, it's just depressing when it goes on and on for days on end and the very heavy showers always seem to coincide with the school run. Funny that!

  4. You are not alone, my husband and I love the rain too, and even Mrs Black likes it! She sits out in it until she is soaking wet and her coat glistens. We call and call her but she loves it. I like the sound of it on the roof, especially when you know you are inside, warm and with a nice cup of tea! Your curtains are stunning. x

  6. I don't mind the rain. I work from home so that might have something to do with it! Down at the beach hut when it starts to rain we just huggle under a parasol or retreat inside the hut. I's not very big inside the hut so we have to stand up. It makes us laugh. More wine always helps. Love the curtains x

  7. I love the rain too! especially the soft rain that we get here in Ireland! it does tend to go on a bit over here though and then it keeps me out of the garden - which I don't like! Your curtains are beautiful, I love that fabric. I admire anyone who can sew, I am dreadful - can't even sew on a button!

  8. Lindo tecido, Sharon!
Hoje está chovendo por aqui, em dias assim prefiro ficar no meu home office trabalhando, conferindo os blogs favoritos e o facebook, sempre acompanhada de um delicioso chá quentinho.
    Bjos querida.

  9. I really dislike the rain, so I stay in if it's possible, but if it's not then I go out and hopefully, if I have my car I can run into wherever I am headed. I lived in the Vancouver BC area for many years and it has taught me to love the sunshine! I have met a few people like you who love the rain, but very few. =)
Your draperies look beautiful, I hope you will show them once they've been hung.
    Hugs, cindy
