On the calm side

Hi everyone, and welcome to new followers!
Apologies for my lack of regular posts lately.

I'm still not out of my calm mode, it think it might take a few weeks to get back to 'normal' - although normal in our home is fairly hectic as well!  The sun is setting earlier, there's a definite nip in the air and I'm already in Autumn mode...How about you?

White interiors always remind me of summer and spring and darker shades the cooler months of Autumn and Winter...do you see the seasons in different colours?   So these images represent the passing of summer...and I'll be posting more colourful rich images as we drift into Autumn...can't wait!

As summer lays down her gentle head to sleep for another year
let's enjoy the fading sunlight and look forward to the new season.

At Sunset

The shadows now so long do grow
that brambles like tall cedars grow;
Molehills seem mountains, and the ant
Appears a monstrous elephant.
A very little, little flock
Shades thrice the ground that it would stock,
Whilst the small stripling following them
Appears a mighty Polytheme.

Have a great day!

  1. Hi Sharon ... thanks so much for visiting me! I can't believe it that you live in Hampshire! We lived in Basingstoke in Hampshire in 1990 and 1991 ( a long time ago) when Andrew was finished his surgical training. We had just Alexander then and he was 2. I love Hampshire and still love going back which is not as often as I would like as we live in Queensland, Australia. I still remember going to all the antique stores and of course, "The Vyne" ...we actually were invited to a ball there which was incredible! Anyway, so lovely to meet you!
    best wishes
