Dear friends, today is a public holiday here in England, and unlike yesterday which was pouring with rain, today is a bright and sunny day! I always have to remind my husband who isn't British, that just because the sun is shining it doesn't mean it 32C outside! (He comes from a much warmer climate!)
I thought I would share with you photos of our Christmas Eve dinner of seafood.
I decorated the table with a hand block printed table cloth designed with shells and fish - and then I added a few starfish and shells collected from the local beach and on holidays. My three tealight holders are reminiscent of sea urchins and gave the table a pretty glow. The idea was not to 'display' the shells and pebbles, but to randomly place them in the centre of the table as if they had just been washed up on the shore...
We're taking advantage of the weather and going for a long trample in the woods today...
Until next time....

Hello my dear! Your table looks delicious! When I looked at it the seafood is so bright and lovely that was all that I saw at first. Your decor is simple and pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt was a public holiday here, too. But when people are home is when my husband has to work often, so it was a day as usual for me. Yesterday we tried out our new Christmas skates though, it was great fun.
Hugs, Cindy
